TUESDAY UPDATE

Posted on Posted in Piper's Blog

I am sorry for the lack of an update over the last few days but I have been beyond busy with work.  I am happy to report that Piper is doing extremely well…so much better than anyone expected.  She is no longer hooked up to any IVs, epidurals, sensors, etc.  She has complete freedom of movement and is up and about and walking all over the place.

She still seems to be in a little pain from time to time and who can blame her, but the doctors are keeping the pain under control.

We are so lucky to have such great family and friends too.  My parents have been up helping since the surgery on Friday and last night April stayed at the hospital with Piper so Erin and I could both stay at home.  Tonight, Des is staying with Piper so we can have another night at home.  I am so grateful to have these people in our lives as it has given Erin and I a chance to spend some time together at night.  I wish I could say I’ve gotten to spend time with the other girls this week, but the truth is that I’ve been working from 7:30 am to 8:30 pm each day so I haven’t gotten to spend much time with these precious little people I love so much.

Tomorrow is a big day.  We will find out the results of the pathology on Piper’s kidney beans and we are really hoping to get great results.  Also, they may need to put in a feeding tube to help Piper gain some weight, but all things considered, everyone is so very positive about her condition and recovery.

Thank you to all of the people who have brought us such wonderful dinners and desserts.  We have really been overindulging on the ziti, chicken pot pie and casseroles!  We couldn’t be more thankful for the outpouring of love and support.

Will certainly let you know what we learn next!

Love – Chris and Erin
