Today is the day we expect to get the pathology results on Piper’s kidneys and lymph nodes. I was hoping for the results this morning but nothing as of yet. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised if we don’t get the results until tomorrow but I will be disappointed. I am expecting to get all good news from the pathology because the CT was so clean. (Nothing at that time showed anything abnormal other than her kidneys failing.) I’m confident that if there is anything on the report, abnormal cells ect, it shouldn’t be enough for her to require chemo. With that said, I also know that unfortunately, tumors can form very quickly so it is possible for something to be discovered during pathology that didn’t show up on the CT. This is why the pathology was much more detailed than when removing an organ where cancer isn’t a concern. Piper’s kidneys are basically gone over with a fine toothed comb so nothing can hide. This is why I will feel completely relieved when we get the good news I’m expecting.
Right now Piper is getting dialysis. Today will be a long treatment for her of 3-3 1/2 hours. Piper’s blood pressure is running a bit high (as usual) so they are trying to help it with dialysis. The slower process should be a bit easier on her little body. Because of her pressure, it now looks like she won’t get released until Fri. That’s not a definite though and I’m still hopeful for going home tomorrow afternoon. After all, school pictures are Friday and what girl wants to miss that?! (And what mom doesn’t want to jump on the opportunity to have all 3 girls have their picture taken together during “school” hours?)
If/when we get the pathology information I will update again later today. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I don’t believe she would be doing so well without them!

The prayers won’t stop so the “power” is still there protecting every aspect of Piper.
