THINGS ARE STILL GOOD

Posted on Posted in Piper's Blog

I just want to try and add regular updates as we work our way towards the transplant date which has been set for December 2nd.

Piper is still doing great. She had a little virus this week but has recovered nicely. She continues to get dialysis treatments four days a week and she is responding well to that. As of now, due to the fact that her transplant is 6 weeks away, we don’t think we’ll be using the peritoneal dialysis port the surgeons put in.

What’s been great is seeing our little Piper acting like herself again. We haven’t really seen her in several months and we are delighted to see that little “spark” that we misses while those bad kidneys were in her.

We loved having my Mom here for several weeks and were sad to see her go yesterday. She was such great help and I miss her already.

On Monday I will go up to Philadelphia to meet with the adult transplant surgeon. I am sure I will have plenty to report after that meeting!

Thanks again for all the great food (I’m looking at you Tracy Soisson!).

Love – Chris and Erin
