PIPER IS DOING GREAT!

Posted on Posted in Uncategorized

Our little girl is doing great.  All of them are doing great, actually.  They’re all so happy to be back together.

Piper’s incision site is healing nicely and she has not had any complications.  Her peritoneal dialysis port is a healing well and she continues to get hemodialysis four times a week.  We’ve been so fortunate to have my Mom here to help us with dialysis and she’s been such a great help.  It’s been wonderful having her here and we’ll be sad to see her go.

We learned today that the transplant of my kidney into Piper will be the first week of December.  It’s a bit sooner than we thought, but if this is what the doctors think is best, then we’re on board.  It just gives me a little less time to get into better shape and get as healthy as possible.

This can alway change, of course, but we are thinking early December is a pretty firm date.  We are very excited to get a healthy new kidney into Piper so she can move forward with her life.  As soon as she and I both get healed, I have a feeling that all of my girls will be making a visit to a “magical” place down in Florida.  Wink, wink.  I think Mommy and I might also have to take some time for us as well considering we were supposed to be in Jamaica this week!

Harper and Sophia are loving having Piper at home and it is so great having them all together.  We are so blessed to have these little people in our lives!!!

Thanks for the great food we’ve been enjoying the last week and a half.  We’re loving this stuff!

Sorry for the lapse in updates, but life has been busy.  I’m still in the same trial I began two weeks ago and thankfully, it will end on Friday.  I’ll be happy to have a break from these 13 hour workdays and spend some more time with my girls.

Love – Chris and Erin

  1. So Happy to hear Piper is beginning her “come back” in life. Prayers really are powerful and Piper sure has had a lot coming her way as well as your family. I’m glad to get these updates and hope you’ll find time to continue. Well wishes to your whole family!
