The day is finally here and of course it has begun with another unexpected delay. We got here at 8:15 and they were preparing her to go back. They decided to take a last minute blood sample for testing and unfortunately it showed that her potassium was too high for everyone’s comfort level. They did not and have not canceled surgery but we did have to bring her downstairs for a last minute dialysis treatment which is where we currently are.
She’s on a bunch of versed to keep her chilled out and she’s really funny. We have about 20 minutes left of dialysis and then she’ll go back up to pre-op and surgery will move forward as planned…we hope.
Will keep you all updated. Thanks for all of the prayers.

Your strength as parents is extremely admirable and Piper is lucky to call you all mom and dad.
