The Lee Family had a very good Easter weekend and Piper is doing very, very well. She still gets a little crazy from the prednisone, but that’s a minor complaint after all we’ve been through over the course of the past year. Things are returning to normal in the Lee household and after Piper got her dialysis port out last week, she finally got to take a bath again!!!
She loves being back in the bathtub with her sisters and it is so great to finally wash her hair. It had been 8 months since her last proper bath and we are so happy and thankful that she’s able to enjoy a bath just like Harper and Sophia.
We are constantly keeping an eye on her to make sure she doesn’t get sick, but so far, so good.
Easter was a fun time for all of us as well. on Saturday we had a fun time at Linvilla Orchards on the Bunnyland Hayride on a very beautiful day. We saw some cows and lambs and enjoyed the sun. That evening we had a great family dinner at Buckley’s Tavern in Greenville, DE.
On Easter Sunday, we went to church and then went to Kris and Scott Marvel’s house for Easter lunch. There were about 25 people there and the kids had a blast, as did the adults.
Easter is a wonderful time to reflect on all we’ve been through this past year. I can’t tell you how lucky and thankful we feel that God has allowed Piper to get through this ordeal so well. So many other children who are sick never recover and we feel so blessed that our little girl is as healthy and vibrant as she is after a very long 2014.
