We found out yesterday the doctors will be removing Pipers kidneys the week of Sept 15. This is what we were expecting because they’re not working and the longer they stay in the more of a chance to develop a tumor.
Piper had her first hemodialysis yesterday. The result was great but the process was not. She only slept for an hour of the 2 hour treatment. (And for the day). We had an awful time getting her blood pressure. It was very painful for her and many of the readings weren’t accurate. Frustrating to say the least! I’m getting things changed so she gets manual blood pressures taken today. I also won’t let anyone wake her this morning so I’m guessing I’m not very popular with nurses or the resident.
My understanding is that Piper will have another dialysis treatment today. I’m sure that will make her feel much better. Chris and I hope for her to be able to see her sisters this afternoon which should make her happy. We will be here through the weekend and longer if her blood pressure doesn’t come down. Hopefully we can get it down and stable because I’m sure it will improve just being home with her family.
Today will be a better day!!!!

Thank you both for the update…and agree, having a plan helps!! We keep you all in our thoughts and prayers. This weekend or any evening you need someone to stay with Piper, I would be honor to….just text or email and I am there!!!
Chris, thank you also for sharing your spiritual journey especially during this difficult time. I can relate with so much that you shared. It’s all about awareness in this constant changing, up and down roller coaster ride we call life! My hand reaches out to you fellow traveller…….
