It was a cold, rainy and windy day as Hurricane Matthew blew through the region and even though we didn’t actually walk in the event, we were there proudly supporting A.I. duPont Hospital for Children’s “Bean Team” at the 2016 Wilmington National Kidney Foundation Kidney Walk.
Our great friend and fundraising extraordinaire, Desiree Headley, ran the 5k on behalf of the NKF and Piper’s Kidney Beans. We were grateful she didn’t get blown into the Christina River on her run!
After the walk, we had many of our friends and supporters back to our house for a “thank you” get together. Hopefully the weather next year will be better!
